Creatures Project Artist Research: Eleazar Albin

Eleazar Albin was an English naturalist and water-colourist illustrator born in 1960 and later died in 1742. He wrote and illustrated numerous books which included “A Natural History of English Insects” and “The Natural History of Spiders and other Curious Insects”. The purpose for which he creates his art is to illustrate a realistic portrayal of the creatures so the audience who reads his books have an idea of what they look like therefore form and detail are an important part of his art.
